GLASS CASTLES

The Wizard builds these castles out of found pieces of glassware. He stacks them into towers and makes city walls to explore the possibilities of transparent city planning.  They look magical on thier own but with the spectrum of the sun shone onto them they reach dynamic color ranges that only the the human eye and mind can comprehend. These rich digital images show only a portion of the glory of the suns colors.

GEOMETRIC LIGHTS

These lights are explorations of geometry and form in front of the Art Science Workshop in the mission. When people walk by and ask about them The Wizard explains about the five Platonic solids and thier names: Dodecahedron, Icosahedron, Octahedron, Hexahedron(cube), and Tetrahedron. The first one, the glowing ball surrounded by a harmonographic pattern in rope lights was taken inthe night. This theft did not detur the Wizard, He just made the new geometric lights higher up and more difficult to dismantle.

BIREFRINGENCE

This is a line of experiments that reveal the internal stresses in polycarbonate plastics. By passing polarized light through the plastic and then donning a pair of polarized lenses the audience can see shifting gradations of color across the plastic. The gradations are arranged according to the manufacturing processes of how the molten plastic cools inside the mold.
